A journey into STEM

"I was discouraged and bullied by math teachers, which lead me to hate mathematics and believe that any STEM field is over my head. I found my way into geography through my uncle who was a geographer himself. He taught me how to read an atlas properly and find out the most amazing details about how the environment and humans are connected. That's why I started studying geography and ended up in GIS, and not because I had discovered that math isn't so bad, but because I could express my fascination with the environment whilst being able to depict issues and their solutions."
