"I was told that I shouldn’t even try this section as it would lead me to failure. Instead of being encouraging and putting in just a little more effort to help me understand statistics, the message that I wasn’t good enough to even try was imprinted on my mind. [...] Then again... the open conversations I have with women and men about their journeys into STEM strengthen my knowledge that I am a part of this community."
